What is Stand-Up-Paddling (SUP)?

Like the name says, standing up on a board and using a paddle to move over the surface of the water. By paddling both left and right on the board one can move in a straight line at a very leisurely pace or with a bit more speed depending on intensity.

What should I wear?

We recommend either swimming gear or a wetsuit depending on the weather. Wetsuits are available for hire or you are welcome to use your own. On hot days don’t forget the suncream and a hat. We will provide you with a board, paddle and mandatory life jacket.

SUP'ing, even when it’s cold?

It is possible, yes. With a bit of coordination you can manage to do this without falling into the water and stay dry and warm. We have wetsuits for hire if this does occur.

How old do I have to be?

Anyone from the age of 6 years and a minimum weight of 20 kgs is allowed. Kids under the age of ten must be accompanied by an adult.

Do I have to sign up?

There is no need to sign up. Just come by and check it out. Please expect waiting periods during peak season and on weekends.
Groups of 15 or more need to book in advance.

Why do I have to pay the entrance fee?

Due to the fact that our SUP centre is located in the Strandbad, everyone wishing to participate needs to pay the entrance fee. For this fee you will be able to spend the whole day in the Strandbad and make use of all the facilities.

Can I watch?

Of course you can. If you wish to watch from our Center you have to pay the entrance fee or alternatively you can watch from the neighbouring park.
